ICOM is glad to host Professor Ian Belis from the University of Gent, Belgium, from July 1st to 31st and September 1st to September 30, 2010.

Prof. Belis is working in the research field of structural glass.

• Structural elements tests: ICOM realised several static and dynamic tests on a wing structure prototype. It was a 10m length box, very light, made out of carbon-Kevlar sandwich panels.
• Extra-light solar modules development for various applications. This project is financed by the CTI and directed by the LTC laboratory.
• 3D pictures and animations extracted from flight simulations (including creation of the airplane) realised by Mr. Claudio Leonardi.
